Turkish Medicinal Products Tracking

The Turkish Ministry of Health is enacting guidelines and rules to track drugs packaged or imported in to the country and distributed to the population. The rules and guidelines call for each drug package to have a unique identifier or serial number. This information along with a product identifier, expiration date and batch or lot information must be printed on the secondary pack using a data matrix barcode. Packagers, distributors, and pharmacies must send information to a Ministry of Health database for various transactions related to the distribution and sale of the product.
